Posted by Linda Stacy in 2008

light bulb momentI read something today that was one of those light bulb moments for me. When I saw it, I thought, “of course.” It’s something that’s almost always overlooked by people who are searching for the perfect business, yet it’s a crucial steps in finding success. Do you know what it is?

“The single most important step in finding the perfect business for you is NOT evaluating business opportunities. No, no, no…

It’s evaluating and knowing…..”

Click here to find out what it is.

Please note (added December 29, 2008): This post is out-of-date. It orginally linked to a free offer which has expired. To top it off, this program has temporarily closed to new members. But apparently you can get on the waiting list to be notified when it re-opens, possibly in January.

If You’re Looking for a Free Online Business

Posted by Linda Stacy in 2008

Every day people come online looking for a home business, often when they need quick cash and have little or no money to invest. For the most part, starting a business requires an investment, but as Lynn Terry recently wrote, it is possible to start a lucrative online business for an initial investment of under $10.

Normally I advise people to be wary of “free business opportunities” that are often too good to be true. But Lynn is describing something completely different. She outlines the steps to creating a “a solid internet business model” through affiliate marketing. These are proven methods; it’s how she makes her living online.

Starting a business for free means you will need to invest time instead of money. And while you could start generating some revenue right away, it may be six month to a year before you start earning a regular income. If you have a little more money to invest, you can speed up the process, but either way, a consistent effort is necessary for success.

Click here for Lynn Terry’s advice on Starting a Free Online Business. I highly recommend it.

And I’d like to know what you think so please stop back here to add your comments.

Free Online Learning Event Teaches Moms About Affiliate Marketing

September 2, 2008, Portland, MI – Books, clothing, shoes, and furniture – nearly everything you can find in your local mall is available for sale online. Increasingly these sales are generated through the recommendations of a virtual sales force, a practice known as affiliate sales.

It can be an ideal income source for mothers who want to stay at home with their children and contribute to the family income, but it’s not always as easy or effortless as it sounds. Kelly McCausey, host of Work at Home Moms Talk Radio, has brought together a team of professional affiliate marketing speakers to help moms navigate the ins and outs of affiliate marketing for the Moms Affiliate Expo, an online webinar conference September 11th through 14th.

“Over the years, I’ve met a lot of moms who join affiliate programs dreaming of financial freedom,” says McCausey, “but the reality is that if you want to make more than pocket change through affiliate programs then you have to have tools in place to build your success.”

Moms Affiliate Expo brings together leaders in the field to deliver those tools and resources. The three day online conference is free to attendees and features exhibitors with affiliate programs that are especially lucrative to moms along with expert speakers who have achieved success through affiliate sales. McCausey herself supported her household and paid off her debts as a single mom through affiliate income.

“Moms Affiliate Expo is a combination of learning and networking that moms can experience from the comfort of their own homes,” says McCausey, “It’s an opportunity to find out the best ways to build an internet based business through affiliate income.”

The event is being sponsored by the popular family meal menu program, Menu Planner Central which has a generous affiliate program for moms to participate in.

While the Moms Affiliate Expo is the first of its kind, McCausey is no stranger to putting together successful online events. She’s just wrapped up the fourth season of the Hot Seminar Series, an annual online learning series for momtrepeneurs. As host of WAHM Talk Radio over the past four years, she’s helped hundreds of moms establish and grow their online enterprises.

Interested moms can register for the event at no cost at www.momsaffliateexpo.com

Editor’s note: I have known Kelly for years and I can always count on her to provide high quality, extremely useful information and resources. She presents material in a down-to-earth, practical manner that is helpful for new and experienced Internet marketers alike. And she only aligns herself with other reputable people, so I’m sure all the expo participants offer quality resources.

Bottom line: if you are interested in learning more about affiliate marketing, participate in the Moms Affiliate Expo. It will be well worth your time.

TextA good 30-day challenge can be very productive, but the time commitment is sometimes difficult. How about joining me for a 30-second challenge?

Write a 30-second speech that you can use when networking or to answer the question, “What do you do?” Make it clever or interesting enough to get people to ask you questions about your business.

Post your 30-second (or elevator) speech in a comment here and we can offer constructive feedback for each other. I’m working on mine and will post it soon.
