We’re testing out a new blog network designed to bring targeted traffic to members’ blogs. The BlogRush widget displays links to related blog topics on other users’ sites and members earn “syndication credits” for referring readers.
You’ll find the “From the Blogosphere” links on the main page of our blog …. you may have to scroll down a bit.
At first, I was a little reluctant to join because it seems a bit like a traffic exchange…… and I don’t do traffic exchanges. But I agree with what Alice Seba had to say about that. There are some major differences.
1 - Traffic exchanges are based on ads; BlogRush is based on content.
2 - BlogRush promises to deliver relevant links by matching the referred content with your blog content to deliver links your readers will be interested in.
3 - BlogRush seems more passive to me. Other than displaying the links, I don’t have to do anything else (unlike traffic exchanges that require my time to click on others’ ads).
There’s another good review at Mashable: “BlogRush: 8 Reasons to Be Wary…and Optimistic” Author Pete Cashmore makes a very good point about all the recent BlogRush reviews. Most people reviewing it are also promoting it… we can all gain “”syndication credits” by referring other members.
Right now BlogRush is free. Sign up here.

The BlogRush widget was removed in February, 2008 to make room for other features in the sidebar. Right after we removed, TrafficJam was released which is supposed to further improve results. We’ll decide whether or not to add it back in after analyzing our other sidebar features.
