While the Tupperware Brands Corporation has sold cosmetics and skin care products under the BeautiControl name for 25 years, recent acquisitions and market expansions suggest that the company is turning its focus away from food storage and more towards the personal care market.
In late 2005 Tupperware acquired the direct selling division of Sara Lee which sells beauty and personal care products market in Latin America and Asia primarily.
That same year, the company changed it’s name to Tupperware Brands Corporation to reflect it’s expanding product line.
The company’s other brands include:
- Avroy Shlain Cosmetics in South Africa
- NaturCare, beauty and household products in Japan
- Swissgarde, health and beauty products in several African countries
- Fuller Cosmetics, fragrances and cosmetics in Mexico, Brazil, and the Philippines
- Nutrimetics, skin care products sold in Northern Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Malaysia and Thailand
- Nuvo, beauty, fashion, and household products is Uraguay
The international expansion into a consumable products market has been profitable for the company. In November, 2006 the company announced a quarterly dividend of 22 cents per share and the third quarter 2006 year to date summary reported that sales were up 37%.
