Our social nature contributes to direct sales success

Posted by Linda Stacy in 2005

In her News-Leader.com article, “Direct selling keeps going and growing”, author Karen E. Culp suggests that our social nature may be a big part of the reason for direct sales companies’ success…..we go to sales parties because we like to get together with other people.

So how does that social aspect of direct selling translate to ecommerce? I think to be successful online a consultant still needs to provide that personal, social touch. You need to be someone your customer trusts to make recommendations and someone who will treat her more personally than the local discount store does.
