If you are not using social media to promote your services, products and website, you are missing out on one of the hottest marketing trends in years. And in doing so, your competition is very likely capturing sales that could be yours.

Social media is opening doors for entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide. Through social media you can:

  • Formulate joint venture partnerships with someone you otherwise would have never connected with.
  • Interact with customers and clients in real time offering support and guidance.
  • Interact with people who are interested in your product and services and in you.
  • Drive traffic to your website, squeeze page and brick and mortar or online store.

And, if all that isn’t enough to convince you to incorporate social media into your strategic marketing efforts, the costs of social media most likely will.  Aside from your time to network and connect with friends, followers and connections, nearly all social media tools and applications are free. Social media can help you very much and its very beneficial to drive the traffic to your site and then you have disadvantage like the spammer will also come on this site.

  12. Rowan from Get Facebook Page Likes Says:

I have gotten about 50% of all the traffic I’ve ever gotten online from social media sites, and that’s close to a million people. It’s a very important thing to do, and you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket, just in case there’s a problem with one site or method.

  13. Linda Stacy Says:

Hi Rowan. Social media sites can be a very powerful marketing tool when used properly. One thing I would caution about is assuming that large numbers of followers, or even large numbers of site visitors necessarily translates to large profits. It’s been my experience that quality followers and highly targeted visitors are much more worthwhile than numbers. If a follower or site visitor isn’t really interested in what you have to offer, I wouldn’t recommend spending time or money to gain them.

  14. Sam from Social Networking Development Says:

Thanks for stopping by to comment everyone.

As several of you have said, social media can be a great marketing and sales tool. And like every tool it’s important to know how to use it. I agree with you – it’s the interaction with customers and potential customers that provides the benefit. And to reiterate, you can gain more from a couple hundred targeted, interested followers than from a thousand random, uninterested ones.

What do you do to engage your followers? What types of updates and comments do your customers respond to?
