A good 30-day challenge can be very productive, but the time commitment is sometimes difficult. How about joining me for a 30-second challenge?
Write a 30-second speech that you can use when networking or to answer the question, “What do you do?” Make it clever or interesting enough to get people to ask you questions about your business.
Post your 30-second (or elevator) speech in a comment here and we can offer constructive feedback for each other. I’m working on mine and will post it soon.

Hi ,
My name is Lisa Teeter and I am so excited to share Votre Vu with you…The new face in town!
Votre Vu is hip, fun and offers the finest, all natural formulated skincare, haircare & bodycare products. We have something for everyone plus an amazing business opportunity for those looking to take advantage of being in on the ground floor of a company that will rival the top companies in the industry. No quotas, no shipping to customers, no inventory or frontloading – our company does all the work – you focus on building your team and your clientele.
Launching on September 10, 2008 with just 1500 consultants, now is the time to get in on this opportunity to maximize the advantages.
I am looking to build my business and would love it if you would host a Soiree at your home with a few of your friends. Our Soiree’s are fun, no pressure and you will be the first in your city to sample the Votre Vu products. You will enjoy fabulous Hostess Rewards and will be helping me get a jumpstart with my new business.
Referrals are the backbone of my business so please pass on my contact information to those you know that may be interested in hosting a Soiree or learning about Votre Vu”s business opportunity.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for sharing your 30-second speech. It really shows your enthusiasm and presents the business in a great light. However, in my opinion, it’s too thorough – people probably won’t respond and ask questions.
I’d recommend recreating it in a manner that will engage people in conversation with you. Try to make it more about your audience and what’s in it for them rather than about all about the company and you. Leave some information out and find a creative way to spark their interest so they’ll ask questions to learn more.
A “Soiree” sounds intriguing. Maybe you can build some mystery around that.
