Training Resources Specific to Direct Sales

Posted on March 10, 2008 by Linda Stacy

Many direct sales consultants start out with little or no training and experience in marketing and sales. One aspect of direct sales that attracted many new recruits is the promise of company and sponsor-provided training. And indeed, many companies have excellent training resources available and many experienced team leaders will teach you their duplicatable success system.

However, there may come a time when you need more help to take your business to the next, more profitable level. Here are some training resources specifically designed for the direct selling industry:

  • The Direct Selling Women’s Alliance (DSWA) is a professional association that provides education, networking and support to women lwho are building a home-based business. The members area currently offers tips, training and simple business-building ideas that shouldn’t be missed, plus other benefits and invaluable members-only bonuses.
  • Karen Phelps is a professional speaker, trainer and direct selling expert offering seminars and products for sales and sponsoring techniques and leadership skills development, and for maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Belinda Ellsworth is a sales trainer and motivational speaker who offers seminars, coaching calls, and training CDs.
  • Relationship marketing expert, Dani Johnson offers weekly training calls, seminars, and events for home business owners.
  • The Direct Selling Association (DSA) is a corporate membership organization that provides professional development programs, research and information, management assistance programs and other support for direct sales companies.

A little training can go a long was towards boosting self confidence and improving profits. Keep learning and growing!

Thanks for stopping by Pierce. I like the idea of borrowing effective techniques from other industries. Although I’m sure many of the techniques can be adapted to home business, you seem more focused on brick and mortar industry. How applicable do you think your class is for home party plan consultants?
