I can attest to you that there are people making $30,000/month on the internet, but it has taken them several years to get to that level. They have dedicated themselves to the business of online marketing and been persistent in their efforts.

The second myth is that you can build a profitable online business for no investment. Has there ever been a successful business built, that makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, for free? I think most of us would answer no to that question. You can not expect to be successful if you are not willing to make an investment in your business.

I will grant you that most internet based businesses can be operated on a much smaller budget than most traditional brick and mortar businesses. However, there are still costs involved with an online business.

The most misunderstood concept "newbies" have with an online business is that they think just having a web site is enough! They are not willing to put in money into promotion. Without promotion, the chances of someone finding your site out, of the billions on the web are extremely low.

Remember that it takes some investment and time to create a successful business and it doesn't matter if it is online or offline. In order to succeed you must be willing to make an investment, learn the industry, and treat it like a business.
